Location

Java Island epitomizes the pristine beauty of untouched nature, with equatorial forests harboring many hidden waterfalls, over 100 volcanoes with wooded slopes, and a winding coastline dotted with numerous bays and beaches. The eastern part of Java Island, where the yacht club is located, is a natural reserve area that is rarely visited by tourists.
Banyuwangi is a small town in the eastern part of the island, serving as a transit point between Java and Bali. The ferry connecting the two islands departs from here. Banyuwangi is also the closest point to the famous Gunung Ijen volcano. Several national parks are situated near Banyuwangi Yacht Club, along with the world-renowned surfing spot, Grajagan Beach.
The coastline of Java Island is winding and forms a large number of coves and bays, convenient for mooring boats of any draft. The comfortable climate, without seasonal temperature fluctuations, makes this location especially attractive to Russian visitors, with temperatures ranging from +23°C to +26°C throughout the year.

We are dedicated to making the Banyuwangi Yacht Club a premier meeting place for Russian and Indonesian official delegations, businessmen, and investors to discuss cooperation and interaction for the development of tourism, sports, and yachting in Indonesia.
Banyuwangi Yacht Club is a reliable partner for the implementation of Russian-Indonesian projects in the field of tourism and sports in this region of Indonesia.

Investments & business

Melding dreams to realty to success
In recent years, interest in sailing and water tourism has been steadily growing in Russia. Yachting schools for both adults and children are being developed. However, climate conditions and the limited capabilities of the Russian coastline encourage the search for partners in southern countries with more favorable climates.

To attract tourists to Indonesia and Banyuwangi, where the season lasts all year round, we are developing partnership programs with Russian yacht clubs and children's yachting schools. These programs will expand our range of services and further develop the yacht club. We anticipate that the upcoming launch of direct flights between Moscow and Denpasar will significantly boost our business.

The Banyuwangi Yacht Club is one of the few successful examples of Russian business investment in the development of sports and tourism in Indonesia. Despite the challenges posed by the coronavirus epidemic and lockdowns, our club has not lost any ground and continues to grow.

The province of East Java and the islands of the Bali Sea are highly attractive for investment and tourism, as they are not yet overpopulated with tourists and maintain their pristine beauty. We are working to create a network of yacht clubs throughout Indonesia under a unified management system, connected by routes and sharing a common development strategy.

The yacht club is dedicated to sports and tourism. We invite organizations and departments associated with tourism and sports, as well as trade and investment companies, to join us at the Banyuwangi Yacht Club. We are ready to provide the best conditions for events of any level and complexity.

Russian banking group acquires 50% of shares of the Indonesian yacht club.

According to sources close to yacht business in Indonesia, shareholders of the «Banyuwangi International Yacht Club» have signed a letter of intent (LOI) for sale of 50% of shares to an unnamed bank group from the Russian Federation.

The transaction amount is not disclosed, but according to independent experts the amount may be not less than 14 billion IRP or around 900 000 USD at the current exchange rate. The goal of the investment project is the development of tourism business in East Java and transformation of Banyuwangi into a yachting mecca.

Joint investment projects of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Indonesia were launched by Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy of the Republic of Indonesia Mr. Sandiaga Uno at the International Tourism Investment Forum ITIF-2024 in Jakarta (International Tourism Investment Forum ITIF 2024). Mr Sandiaga Uno has visited BIYC several times after the forum as part of business events.

An extraordinary general meeting of shareholders (EGMS) is planned for November 7th, 2024, where the final decision on the matter of bank group becoming one of the founders could be made.
